FROGMORE Cottage was famously known as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s stunning UK residence on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
However, since giving up his HRH title, relocating to California with his growing family, and publishing his memoir, Spare, it is unlikely the pair will be spending any more time in the £2.4million cottage after having been recently evicted.

When did Harry and Meghan move into Frogmore Cottage?
Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, moved into their former home in April 2019, a month before baby Archie Harrison was born and after extensive renovations were completed.
The five-bedroom property — a gift from the Queen — was said to have required a “substantial overhaul” before they were able to move in, including new heating, wiring, and utilities.
Frogmore Cottage is situated in the Frogmore Estate, boasting 33 acres of private gardens within the Home Park, adjoining Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
It was there in the adjoining grounds of Windsor Castle that the pair married on May 19, 2018, at St George’s Chapel, followed by a reception on Frogmore House’s grounds.
In recent years, the estate has been used for other royal functions, including the wedding reception of the Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips, 44, and Autumn Kelly in May 2008.

When was the cottage renovated?
The subsequent refurb of the cottage cost taxpayers a whopping £2.4million and was completed in April 2019.
The couple, however, agreed to pay back the money for the refurbishment when they moved to the US and gave up their royal titles.
According to reports, the couple has now paid the public debt back – and commented they were “very relieved and very pleased”.
Following the extensive renovations, the residence now boasts a designer kitchen and a refitted bathroom.
The main renovation took around six months but some work is still outstanding, such as repainting the exterior and landscaping the grounds.
Palace sources said that the cost will not be revealed as it is “part of a five-year repainting and repair programme”.

Neighbours of the royals were given a list of “do and don’t commandments” at a residents’ meeting.
Locals were told:
- Don’t approach or instigate conversation if you see the couple
- Do say ‘Good Morning’ or some other pleasantry if they speak to you
- Don’t pet or stroke their dogs, even if they come over to you
- Don’t offer to walk their dogs
- Don’t ask to see baby Archie or offer to babysit
- Don’t post anything through the letterbox of Frogmore Cottage
They include royal staff, officials who live in grace-and-favour houses and Crown Estate employees.
When did Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank live there?
Since the property was empty after Meghan and Harry left for Los Angeles with baby Archie, it was reported that the pair had handed the keys over to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in November 2020.
Harry had always been close to his cousin – the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
The Sussexes’ prized possessions were hauled out of Frogmore Cottage in the dead of night to make way for their new tenant.
However, the Princess and her husband mysteriously moved out only six months later, and into Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington Palace grounds, after the alleged drama with the Cambridges.

When were Harry and Meghan evicted from Frogmore Cottage?
On February 28, 2023, it was exclusively revealed by The Sun that Harry and Meghan are in the process of being evicted from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles.
An insider told us, while disgraced Andrew was offered the keys to the five-bed Windsor home last week, the news marks “the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK.”
Apparently, King Charles made the big decision days after his son’s controversial memoir was released.
