The 32-year-old musician Ed Sheeran has given the names +, x, ÷, and =. The singer revealed writing hundreds of songs to get a perfect album for himself and his fans. And that’s the reason why he tried to get back to his songwriter and singer roots.
Going in particular with this album which is related to his aspect then it will be related to the 3 most important things. The first one is the tumor of his wife Cherry and the second one is the death of his best friend Jamal. The third one is related to the lawsuit which went against his famous song called Shape Of You.
According to the singer Ed Sheeran: “I had been working on Subtract for a decade, trying to sculpt the perfect acoustic album, writing and recording hundreds of songs with a clear vision of what I thought it should be.
Then at the start of 2022, a series of events changed my life, my mental health, and ultimately the way I viewed music and art”
Ed Sheeran has called music and song therapy. It helped him in feeling the sense of his thought and writing about them with a clear mind.
He just wrote whatever was giving him trouble and in just one week he collected the deepest as well as darkest thoughts in the songs. The singer continued and said:
“Within the space of a month, my pregnant wife got told she had a tumor, with no route to treatment until after the birth. My best friend Jamal, a brother to me, died suddenly and I found myself standing in court defending my integrity and career as a songwriter. I was spiraling through fear, depression, and anxiety.”
